APIE KLINIKĄ
At Diaverum, we offer our patients consistently high standards of care in every one of our clinics worldwide. Our care model delivers superior medical outcomes, based on a highly standardised system of clinical governance and practice. We know the importance of truly empowering patients, and our True Care culture ensures a holistic renal care experience. The Diaverum d.HOLIDAY programme enables patients who wish to travel to do so in full confidence that they would receive Diaverum care worldwide, because everyone deserves a fulfilling life.
Furness Renal Centre opened in July 2021 as a nurse-led satellite dialysis centre run and managed by Diaverum, on behalf of the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The centre provides dialysis in a modern and comfortable facility, accommodating 12 dialysis stations. All stations are equipped with individual TV screens for patient entertainment during dialysis. Free patient Wi-Fi is available in clinic as well as complimentary patient parking and accessible facilities.
The clinic also has a Minimal Care room, which is a separate space away from the main treatment room, where patients who are able to, can undertake treatment independently, giving them more flexibility and empowering them to take control of their care, with minimal or no supervision.
Light refreshment is served during dialysis. However, you are free to bring your own snack.
Furness Renal Centre is open Monday through Saturday, and closed on Sunday, Christmas and New Year Days.
Please be aware that the clinic is a no-smoking dialysis facility. You are not permitted to smoke or use e-cigarettes on the property.<.p>
About Ulverston
Ulverston is a fine market town in the centre of the Furness peninsula, with old buildings and a labyrinth of cobbled streets, and is the start of the 70 mile Cumbria Way. It is the birthplace of Stan Laurel, and home to the world’s only Laurel and Hardy Museum. It has the world’s shortest, widest and deepest canal, and is just a mile and a half from the sea at Morecambe Bay.
Ulverston became a market town in 1280, when a Royal Charter was granted by Edward I – an event celebrated every September with the Charter Festival. In the mid 1660’s it became a centre of religious activity when George Fox, founder of the Quakers Movement, lived for a time at Swarthmoor Hall. Ulverston’s attractions include its Parish Church, Sir John Barrow Cottage, the new Lakes Glass Centre, which is home to Heron Glass, where you can watch the transformation of molten glass into spectacular works of art, Cumbria Crystal, where you can watch the intricate hand crafted process of crystal making and engraving, as well as Shed 1 Distillery, where husband and wife team Andy & Zoe produce award-winning Gin, Gin Elixirs and Gin Marmalade. Ulverston has a great selection of quirky shops, cafes, restaurants and eateries, there is something for everyone.
If you fancy a walking holiday, the most popular walks in and around Ulverston include the Greenodd walk with view to Ulverston, Canal Foot to Plumpton Walk, Gill Banks and the Flan Walk, the Ulverston Canal Walk, as well as the Hoad Monument from either The Gill or from Ford Park.
